Orientation
Board Member Orientation

The Governing Board believes that the preparation of each Board member for the performance of his/her duties is essential to the effectiveness of the Board's functioning.

The Board encourages each new Board member to understand the function of the Board, acquire knowledge of all matters related to the operation of the schools, learn Board procedures, and become conversant with the history and traditions of the district.

Whenever a new Board member is elected or appointed to fill a vacancy, the Board President and Superintendent shall provide an orientation for that new member. (DP 080)

The Board shall encourage and bear the costs of the attendance of each new Board member at orientation workshops of the California School Boards Association and the San Bernardino County School Boards Association.
